AXEL BORUP-JØRGENSEN'S LAST INTERVIEW
Composer Axel Borup-Jørgensen died on the 15th of October 2012 at the age of 87. At a concert in Birkerød Chuch on the 23rd of August, 2012, Axel was awarded the honour of "æresdirigent" of the Rudersdal Sommerkoncert Series and his work DUO for violin and cello, op. 132 was given its world premiere by violinist Anna Kviatkowska and cellist Izabela Bukowska from Poland.
After one of the summer's concerts, Axel Borup-Jørgensen was interviewed by Morten Schuster Rossel as a part of a documentary film about the Rudersdal Sommerkoncerts. This conversation is a part of this tribute film where Axels's composer friend Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen tells about his tone-art and describes him as a "composer's poet".
Music in the film is by Axel Borup-Jørgensen and is performed by Michala Petri, Maria Camitz, Leif Hesselberg and Frans Hansen, recorded by Leif Hesselberg and Jens Rossel.
This film had its premiere at "New Music", a rememberance concert for Axel Borup-Jørgensen in Bistrup Church, Birkerød on the 22nd November 2012, on Axel's 88th birthday.
